We offer two levels of membership: Contributor and Friend of Calyx. The Contributor membership includes a hotspot and unlimited wifi, plus a T shirt, stickers and pins. The Friend of Calyx membership includes a T shirt, stickers, pins and our eternal gratitude, but does not include a hotspot or any wifi benefits.
To decide if our Contributor membership is a good fit for you, a good first step is to check the coverage in your area. Our hotspots connect to Sprint's domestic LTE network and roam to T Mobile when Sprint is not available, so you can check your coverage is by visiting Sprint's interactive coverage map here: https://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?. It's also a good idea to give Sprint a call for an up-to-date, personalized coverage assessment here: 888-211-4727. You can also check cellmapper.net to see the Sprint and T Mobile towers in your area.
Once you’ve confirmed that coverage is good in your area, you can sign up for a membership here: https://members.calyxinstitute.org/enroll. You’ll be prompted to choose which level you'd like to join at, which Contributor level hotspot you want from our available options, and whether you’d like to be a member for a year or for a quarter (3 months). Quarterly members can switch to yearly membership when it’s time to renew (and vice-versa).
The address you provide at signup will be used to ship your hotspot and any warranty replacements you may need, so please provide an address where we can ship your hotspot and other membership premiums to you. Because of shipping restrictions on the way that lithium batteries can be shipped, we can only ship UPS Ground at this time.
