How to upgrade or downgrade your membership level
Changing your Calyx internet membership is easy. Here are a few important things to keep in mind:
First, here’s how to change your membership level:
- Log into the membership portal: https://members.calyxinstitute.org
- Click Change Level for the membership you want to change.
- Follow the prompts to complete the order.
Decide whether you’re keeping your old device or ordering a new one
Every Calyx internet membership level supports a different set of membership premiums.
For our hotspot memberships, the hotspot you choose to order will determine your new membership level. If you choose the same hotspot model as you currently have, your membership level will not change. If you choose a hotspot model that is different from what you currently have, your membership level (including the associated renewal contribution) may change.
If you choose to order a Sprout membership, your hotspot will be replaced by a compatible device of your choosing. We will send you a SIM for use in the compatible device of your choosing. As a Sprout member, you will need to supply your own compatible device. For more information on which devices are compatible with the Sprout membership, please see more info here.
Remember to renew
Changing your membership level by ordering a replacement device does not automatically renew or extend your current membership term. To extend the length of your membership, you must also renew—you will only contribute the new membership rate at the time of renewal.
Please note: Each membership may have only one active device or SIM. Within two weeks after your replacement device or SIM has shipped, your existing device or SIM will be deactivated. If you want to use multiple devices and/or SIMs, please add an additional membership.
